Aspen Grove-Colorado National Park

Daily Photo:

Going west out of Estes Park you run into Colorado National Park. There are so many photo “ops”, it seemed like we were stopping all the time. Our goal was to reach Winter Park by sun down, but not before we trodded through grassy Aspen groves, climbed up to rocky waterfalls, enjoyed herds of elk, wandered aimlessly through bog fields, and breathed the thin wind struck air at the 10,000 foot summit over Milner Pass. Aspen trees with their distinctive white bark created a pleasant contrast to the pine tree forest that dominated the scenery.

  1. Made me homesick! I’m from Gunnison, Colorado — Gunnison National Forest – and Black Canyon of the Gunnison. You should try to make it over there sometime – beautiful country!
