Kings Bend-Vertical Vertigo

Horseshoe Bend in Arizona is just downstream of Glen Canyon Dam on the Colorado River in Arizona. Locals call this place, “Kings Bend”. Imagine standing on the edge of a 1000′ vertical edge that goes straight down. Now imagine kids running around some 3 and 4 years old so close to a 1000′ vertigo drop. Something I witnessed. I usually get nauseous 3 steps up a ladder.  As I approached the awesomeness of this planet earth wonder, I began to get queasy, the closer I got to the edge. The unexpected sudden drop does indeed take your breath away. I stayed for a fascinating sunset. It was so cool I had to come back for the sunrise. Hard to believe by the next day I took some shots with me sitting on the edge. Those I’ll share another time.
